Listen to any text read aloud with natural voices, right in your browser. Great for proofreading, learning pronunciation and accessibility. Free and private.

Voices come from your device/browser — Chrome and Edge offer the largest selection. Playback happens locally; audio download isn’t possible with built-in browser voices.

Who Uses Text to Speech?

  • Writers & students — hearing your text is the fastest way to catch awkward sentences and typos.
  • Language learners — check pronunciation of words and full sentences at slow speed.
  • Accessibility — rest your eyes and listen to long articles instead of reading.
  • Multitaskers — turn notes into a podcast while you cook or commute.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my text sent to a server?

No — speech is generated by your own device’s voices through the Web Speech API. Nothing is uploaded.

Can I download the audio as MP3?

Not with built-in browser voices — they play but can’t be recorded to a file by the page. That honesty matters to us; tools claiming otherwise either use paid cloud voices or record your speakers.

Why do voices differ between my phone and laptop?

Each operating system ships its own voices (Windows, Android, iOS all differ). Chrome and Edge also add high-quality online voices.

What languages are supported?

Whatever voices your device has — most systems include English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese and many more. The voice list shows each voice’s language code.
